I'm on OS X 10.6 and I thought I was using GNU Readline 6. But if my backtrace implies otherwise something must have gotten messed up somewhere on my end. When I deleted Readline and rebuilt everything worked fine. I'm going to go ahead and close this as you got it build and working for yourself that's good enough for me, Ronald.
