Introduction

The video "Can a robot pass a university entrance exam?"  provides compelling evidence for why human's need to change FROM managed, emotionally volatile, tribal individuals (do what you are told and do not question the boss, parent, teacher, etc.) TO self-managed, emotionally self-regulated, critically thinking, diversity appreciating human beings; BECAUSE in the A.I. Era the availability of jobs where bosses tell you what to do will all be given to computers.  The only jobs available for people will require us to think for ourselves and participate in cooperative, peer relationships.

Can a robot pass a university entrance exam? | 14 min

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Why are we having children grow neural tissue over many, many years so they can spell and write words in an A.I. Era where every smart phone, cheap laptop, etc. has access to an A.I. FOR FREE! that will translate any properly enunciated speech into text? Why not leap frog child education from kindergarten on to just start learning to write in-order-to communicate for real? For example, the Project Gutenberg Foundation's website (see reference below) has thousands (59,377 ebooks as of 5/7/2019) of public domain texts like Grimms' Fairy Tales, that children could re-write using the geography of their environments and the names of friends and family to populate their local landscapes with fairy folk, magical creatures, legends, etc.? Rather than create make-work tasks that are trashed after grading, WHEN ... WE THE ADULTS! THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE! could have the pleasure of just giving children a command to re-create, re-locate, etc. legends, fairy tales, etc., AND THEN sit back and watch them, praise them, etc. as they work to create really interesting, descriptively rich, deeply meaningful-to-them, exiting remixes of our rich catalogue of childhood fictions? Let Children Create! Be Authors! Be Movie Producers! Etc.!

Bureaucracy for YOU!

The impact of using information technology (aka bureaucracy) to remember and document civilizises human thought and behavior.  Of Note: My applications allow anyone to enjoy the benefits of bureaucracy minus the expensive human bureaucrats depicted below as the "Librarian" and "Project Manager!"

Here will go text explaining that hierarchies came into existence because The Paper Era (versus The A.I. Era) required most people in an organization to just do what they were told in order to efficiently and accurately move information about, and get it to the very few at the top of these organizational hierarchies, so the people-at-the-top could make decisions for everyone (schools, of course, were created to turn out do-what-you-are-told, don't-ask-questions, etc. people for this Victorian bureaucratic machine, which is now obsolete!!! as noted in the referenced talk by education researcher Sugata Mitra (Mitra 2013, 0:02:30)). Now with digital access to information technologies EVERYONE can use their brains to critically think, instead of doing what they are told.  We now need people to focus on doing work that is satisfying to them as the primary tool used for measuring work quality, versus measuring our work by gold stars, grades, money, etc.  We need to replace paper based information management hierarchies with computer apps for organizing information, just like the one's this project provides!

Our medical need for bureaucracy

A bureaucratically managed relationship allows hallucinating (blind to reality, truth, etc.) humans to navigate relationships without running into the proverbial furniture and blaming ourselves and others for doing so!

Human brains hallucinate reality. This is a fact conveyed in the above videos arranged left-to-right from easiest-to-hardest to understand, due to the amount of information and the technical nature of the evidence discussed in each video presentation.

Bureaucracy (information technology) humbles us. Thru documentation of our goals and accomplishments we come to know how little we can actually accomplish, how often we fail, and how much more we depend on others than others depend on us. This practice of humbling ourselves by documenting our goals and accomplishments, eventually results in a psychological state of profound gratitude. We come to realize that anything we do can only ever be a gift of thanks for all that we have been given. This idea that achieving a deep sense of gratitude results from daily accounting/documentation practices was first introduced to me by Margaret Visser. Applications

So many Apps!  Each information management app below is part of a hierarchy of information management apps that go from a general, top view of all your information and where it is all located, to apps for documenting and organizing increasing levels of detailed information about your life and relationships.

The movie above provides an overview of the hierarchy of web apps for families, teams, etc. FROM a 50-thousand-foot-view (my awesome, information-technology, manger Rita's favorite way of beginning all meetings by looking over everything generally, on my former IT team's plate), TO specific projects, their tasks, and documentation of progress on those tasks.  More movies showcasing the various apps below will be added as time permits.

Search and sort the table below to explore progress on specific applications

The Library App is the most documented application with a full help system, and a set of examples to set expectations about what it is designed to help you do, and demonstrate the tasks that the library can do.  These help resources are what I believe is needed for all the other applications, and that I will work toward completing as time permits.

All apps shown below are fully coded, tested, and ready for use!  But, other than the Library, they require me, versus a help system to explain them.  There are 6 HGT applications that I created from scratch — ActionLog, BudgetPlanner, HeartWhisperer, IQ Log, Library, SpaceWalk Log; then 4 opensource application that I have configured for ease of use — BugGenie, Feng, Piwigo, Vanilla; and finally 2 free web-services I can help you setup and use — Archive.org and GitHub.com.  Hours below indicate additional time needed to add new features, upgrades, and most importantly help!

Application Tests

Click on the pictures to tour the garden built testing the apps shown in the table below.

The patio garden (shown above) was one project used to test almost all the apps: Action Generator (personal time and task documentation), Bug Genie (project coordination/planning), Feng (task progress communication), Piwigo (task photo documentation), and SketchUp (3d modeling).  As time permits, more projects listed below will be featured like the patio above, and in much greater detail, to demonstrate how the apps where used to increase the quantity and quality of work that can be accomplished with the aid of these task planning, communication, documentation, illustration, etc. apps.

Table below shows various projects used to test the apps' ability to improve quality in planning and tracking progress; and improve quality in communicating problems, solutions, and results.

Brain Exercises

Here is a set of remarkable, research backed, life changing brain exericses!

I have helped my friend Paula Perron release a new version of her exercises at HelpFreeIntelligence.org that is free to download and use.  I have scripted and filmed all the exercises.  The Help Give Thanks Research Project was in large part created to deliver these exericese in a format (the library app) that allows children to self-administer the exercises, modify them, and share them with others.
