I know very little about rabbits even though I see them quite frequently on trails (and had a few as childhood pets). I'm trusting the linked website for ID.

I don't particularly like the common name, b/c it's a heron and the name gets many people confused with the smaller, yellow-footed, snowy egret (genus Egretta).
