Pleasing fungus beetle - Tritoma mimetica

Pleasing fungus beetle - Tritoma mimetica
Chantilly, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
June 7, 2009
At first sight, I guessed it was Tritoma pulchra . But, the black pattern on the elytra and the color of the scutellum are different from that species. Now, my best guess is Tritoma mimetica .

agreed; nice find!
