Dung Beetle ?? - Onthophagus taurus

Dung Beetle ?? - Onthophagus taurus
Manteca, San joaquin County, California, USA
August 9, 2007
Size: 3/4"
I am not sure where his eyes are , but this is a good view of his " digger " paws . He flew away after clearing the spider web from his feet and I was thankful to get 4 good photos of him . Please tell me that the remnants on his shell are not dung . Thank you for any information that you can give me on this interesting beetle , sincerely Beth the shutterbug
