Is the plugin not translated into Russian?
-
The full Jetpack is translated into Russian and displays correctly.
The Jetpack Boost interface is in English. Why is that?

Hi there, @bahus,
Thanks for reporting this, and sorry for the trouble!
Plugins in the WordPress.org directory need to be at least 90% translated in order to be made available in the target language. If you’d like to improve the translations of this plugin, and WordPress itself, you’re welcome to join the Polyglot team!
You can help with translating WordPress into your language at any time and when you want to. As an open source project, all the members of the Polyglots team are volunteers.
Getting started is easy! Simply login to the translation platform and start suggesting translations. A validator will then check and approve them for you:
https://translate.wordpress.org/
There are several translation teams for different languages. If you’d like to check them out, here’s the full list:
https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/
As soon as they’re approved, your suggestions will benefit you and every other user who speaks your language! One small addition can impact an entire community.
As for Boost specifically I checked the main translation page here:
https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/zero-bs-crm/And it looks like the plugin isn’t still ready to be translated by the community. I can investigate and let you know, should you’re interested in translating the plugin.

Hi there, @bahus,
Upon further checking, we realise that there are two entries for Boost in translate.wordpress.com, therefore the one I linked earlier is wrong – this is the correct link:
https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/jetpack-boost/The Russian version seems to be translated at 98%, therefore you should be able to see it translated.
Could you try re-installing the plugin from this dedicated page to see if that solves the problem?
https://ru.wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack-boost/Look forward to your reply, thanks!
I installed the plugin from the repository. I don’t know which link it was installed from.
I downloaded the archive from your link and uploaded it over the existing one so as not to lose the settings.
Nothing changed. The admin panel is still not in my language.
I tried exporting the translation from WordPress’s native translation service to a PO file. The export creates a translation file with a strange name: wp-plugins-jetpack-boost-stable-ru.po. I renamed it to jetpack-boost-ru_RU.po, based on the plugin’s folder name, and copied it to the WordPress translations folder …/wp-content/languages/plugins/. It had no effect.
What name should the translation file have in the …/wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder so that WordPress can see the translation and apply it to the plugin?
I can create a translation file in Poedit, but I need to figure out what the PO file should be named.P.S. The site only has the Jetpack Boost plugin installed. There is no full Jetpack plugin.
Hi @bahus ,
Thanks for the detailed info. Before we dig further into the manual approach, could you try the standard WordPress translation flow?
- Go to Settings → General
- Set Site Language to Русский
- Save Changes
- Go to Dashboard → Updates
- If you see “Update Translations” — click it
After that, check if any files starting with
jetpack-boost-ru_RUappeared in your/wp-content/languages/plugins/folder.Let us know if any files download and if the Boost admin still in English.
This will help us figure out if the issue.
