WELCOME TO THE MAINE HOUSE REPUBLICANS' WEBSITE

The Maine House Republicans stand for a better, more prosperous future, and against efforts to depart from what makes Maine a special, unique place to live. Our caucus advocates for a fiscally sound, accountable, transparent government, and for common-sense solutions that create jobs, and expand opportunity for all Maine citizens. We value independence, self-reliance, and faith in a power higher than government.

Maine House Republicans seek better ways to communicate our efforts on behalf of workers, their families, and our most vulnerable citizens. We believe that if the public becomes fully aware of what is taking place within our borders, and throughout our government, the Maine people will give Republicans a chance to lead.

The views of our members are shaped by personal values and the needs of the people and communities we represent. Our caucus members come from all parts of Maine, and all walks of life. Together, we remain committed to a better Maine, and will never back down despite overwhelming odds.

We appreciate your interest, welcome your support, and encourage your involvement in the legislative process.

Democrats are destroying this beautiful state. I will no longer vote any democrat for office. Time to turn this state red.

Democrats don’t care Maine

Taxed beyond reason, prices skyrocket

Democrats don't care as long as it's their way.

Demolition democrats

I won't have to worry about retirement. I'll be working till noon on the day of my funeral....

Comfort is a relative term. We should be glad we can save any amount of money. To assume that we should be able to live comfortably is unrealistic.

So you’d like to attract senior citizens to retire to the state of Maine. Excellent. I can speak for a large group of retirees that would be looking for a state that provided excellent social and medical services for senior citizens in every community. That means keeping rural hospitals open, senior citizen centers open, providing for excellent Medicaid coverage, ease in voting ( many are snowbirds or have mobility issues), programs that subsidize utility bills and property taxes. Oh… We love states that don’t tax our income. I hate to admit this, but it looks to me as if we’re much more of a liability to Maine than an asset.

Exactly, get that lifetime politician Susan Collins the fuq outta here

Electricity is almost as much as our mortgage, that's our biggest challenge.

That would mean all new politicians that aren't corrupt.

All blue states.

Maine goes RED 👍👍👍👍

Last thing we need are more republicans

Biding time...

My opinion: Air B N B are a major factor in taking away family homesteads. One person owning 2, 3, 4 etc houses….

Holly Coryell guess you are moving to PA

Move to TX, FL, NH or Idaho.

Vacation second homes/ shoreline property part of tax escalation. Locals taxed out of family property . lumber , farming and fishing revenue generating insufficient tax revenue. Lots of issues and both political parties not doing much to build revenue . ? What’s the answer ??

How does Tampon Tim's state get it's ranking?? 🤔

I agree

By all means, if you want cheap, do go to WV or some other backward place.

Clearly the libs are winning go get em!!!

It's about living within your means, these numbers are crazy. Most people have no house payment at retirement and social security. If you have $1 million and draw 5% a year, that's $50k plus S.S. of $20 k or more. As a single person without a house payment, if you can't live on $70,000 a year, you're doing something wrong.

City elite coming in droves.

That’s disgusting.

Maine underpaid for years.

Abolish property and income taxes

Hooray communism

Not much better for retirees on a now fixed income either!!!

Try living as a senior on Social Security of $15,240 a year! 1/3 of that goes to property taxes for services NEVER used!

Unacceptable

Democratic Party results. Vote Maine House Republicans

I totally get this. I’m a single adult and live under the low average income. It is so frustrating.

What got Maine in that predicament? 🙄

I would like to have the average income. Living comfortably means different things to different people. I have what I need. I do without things I do not need. I do fine. I do not go out to movies, have cable tv or streaming services. Living comfortably means living beneath your means and being able to afford to replace a pair of ripped jeans without taking out a loan. If living comfortably means being able to take expensive vacations, have cable tv, while eating out and going to a movie driving a new $80,000 pickup ask the Amish about how comfortably they live.

Comfortably? That sounds like living large

Reminds of a story about Jesus kicking up the tables in the Temple of the Money Changers. $ is the one variable that screws up every equation

It would the income of three adults in a family to buy a home.

Stop spending money

Is there a list of the comfortable things that are needed?

60k would be comfortable to me.........what math lead to 90+k?

Now we see Mills putting up a bigger wall, security system 4.5 million dollars.. where that come from?

that “single adult” must be living on Portland’s western promenade.

Thank you, Gov Mills and the Dem,

I can live comfortably off of 10k a year. Y'all just live above your standard and fill it with consumerism.

And what about over taxed Seniors on Social Security? Especially when one or both of them have a lot of medical expenses.

Define comfortably. But, I agree that there is a problem. If you want something, work for it. Don't expect a free ride. Taxpayers can't afford the free rides for others.
