The Journal of Neuroscience: 45 (29)

About the Cover

This sagittal cross-section of a genetically modified mouse brain shows expression of Adaptor protein containing Pleckstrin homology domain, Phosphotyrosine binding domain, Leucine zipper motif (APPL1, green), which is a protein linked to Alzheimer's disease pathology. This mouse has an overexpression of human APPL1 in its neurons (Thy1-APPL1). Ying Jiang and colleagues developed the Thy1-APPL1 mouse model to explore Alzheimer's disease—related pathology and memory deficits associated with APPL1 overexpression in vivo. See the article by Jiang et al. for more information. Cover image: Ying Jiang
