Moosehead Lake Region: 12/28/04 - Temp 24F,
A passing warm front Christmas eve brought rains and cold temps the next day left the area with a base of ice. New snow of 2-4 inches over the trail base is not sufficient to encourage snowmobling in the area.
Moosehead Lake has started to ice up. We need cold temps with 8 to 10 inches of snow. Squaw Mountain has 3 trails open and XC ski trails are open. Updates on Maine winter vacation activities,
