The Industrial Internet Consortium predicts the IoT (Internet of Things) will become the third technological revolution after the Industrial Revolution and the Internet Revolution. Its impact across all industries and businesses can hardly be imagined. Existing software (business, telecom, aerospace, defense, etc.) is expected to be modified or redesigned, and a huge amount of new software, solving new problems, will have to be developed. As a consequence, the software industry should welcome new and better methods.","DOI":"10.1145\/3121437.3123501","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2019,4,29]],"date-time":"2019-04-29T18:25:04Z","timestamp":1556562304000},"page":"25-51","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":16,"title":["Is There a Single Method for the Internet of Things?"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"15","author":[{"given":"Ivar","family":"Jacobson","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Ian","family":"Spence","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Pan-Wei","family":"Ng","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2017,6]]},"reference":[{"issue":"6","key":"e_1_2_1_1_1","first-page":"84","article-title":"Design thinking","volume":"86","author":"Brown T.","year":"2008","journal-title":"Harvard Business Review"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_2_1","unstructured":"Collins T.
