Areas of Rain Today with Heat Next Week

CLANTON – Friday, 8:00 AM, July 18, 2025

Rainbands will occur across the state today, beginning in the southern half this morning and spreading to the northern half later this morning or afternoon.  Localized flooding may occur in spots.

Especially across south Alabama and particularly Mobile and Baldwin counties, intense rainfall of 2-5 inches per hour is possible.   Most or all of the precipitation will dissipate across the state between 10 PM and 12 AM.

As we get into the weekend and next week, precipitation will occur in the typical, summertime scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.

Heat and humidity will be the main issue statewide next week.  From Sunday through at least next Thursday, high temperatures each day will be in the middle to upper 90s with overnight lows only dropping to the middle 70s.  This will lead to high index values and Heat Advisories will likely be issued for much of the state.
