Nuray Istiqbal[3] (born Kae Asakura;[a] Japanese: 加江 朝倉; August 17, 1996), also known by her former stage name Rae Lil Black, is a Japanese model, social media influencer, and former pornographic actress.

She has also created content on various platforms, including YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, where she shares gaming content and vlogs. Following a visit to Malaysia in 2024, she converted to Islam.

Career

Asakura entered the adult film industry at the age of 20. Her first hardcore video was released in 2018, amassing millions of views in its first week and going viral on Pornhub.[4] She earned two award nominations at the 2nd Pornhub Awards, held in 2019,[5] and received further nominations throughout her adult film career from various ceremonies including the XBIZ Awards and AVN Awards.[6][7] In 2020, AVN noted her as being ranked in the top 30 most popular models on Pornhub,[8] and in 2022, she was ranked 18th.[4] Also in 2020, she was featured as a playable character in Heavy Metal Babes, a turn-based role-playing game published by Nutaku.[8] Asakura starred in eight films by Vixen Media Group, released from 2020 to 2024.[9] Asakura was noted for being a scarce performer; in 2022, she had appeared in under 60 professional scenes in the previous five-year period and became more selective in her bookings over time.[4] In addition to her professional scenes, she also opened a personal OnlyFans account, releasing further adult scenes on it.[4] She also found work as a non-pornographic model, appearing on the cover of the 25th issue of Richardson, a sex magazine.[10]

After stepping away from adult films, she transitioned into content creation, building a following on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Twitch, where she streams gaming sessions and shares personal vlogs. Her YouTube vlogs are centered around topics such as food and travel.[11] She also created ASMR mukbang content.[4] In November 2023, she gave a TEDx Talk in Bangkok, Thailand.[1] In October 2024, she posted herself wearing a hijab and dressing modestly on TikTok.[12] In February 2025, Istiqbal collaborated with Sneaker Con Southeast Asia, a sneakerhead event held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo in Singapore, where she participated in a meet-and-greet.[13] She received prayer mats and travel prayer kits at the event.[14] After removing all adult content from her social media accounts and publicly announcing her conversion to Islam, she was noted by the Toronto Sun as having lost followers on those platforms.[12]

Personal life

Istiqbal was born Kae Asakura[a] in Osaka, Japan, on August 17, 1996.[4][17] Following a stay in Thailand in 2023, she adopted the Thai nickname Raewadee.[1][16]

In March 2025, Istiqbal publicly announced her conversion to Islam following a 2024 visit to Malaysia, where she was reportedly deeply influenced by the culture and religious environment, particularly in Kuala Lumpur.[18][19] She also changed her name to Nuray Istiqbal.[3] Her conversion garnered mixed reaction from netizens, ranging from support from Muslim communities to skepticism from some fans.[18]

Since her conversion, she has expressed interest in learning more about Islamic practices and has occasionally shared aspects of her journey on social media.[3][20] In interviews, she has emphasized her commitment to personal growth and distancing herself from her past career.[18]
