Michael Boyles opened MINVOKER-309 and commented

The FAQ has a statement from a long time ago (15 years), but there appears to be no related ticket:

"it is hoped that soon we will integrate the Maven Embedder into the mix to allow you run your projects in process for great speed."

Is this still the hope? Perhaps gains from not forking are expected to be minimal and it's no longer worth pursuing. Functionally, it was suggested as a workaround for MINVOKER-222

If this is desirable, is Maven Embedder still the way to go? According to a comment on MINVOKER-222 "{}I'm not sure maven-embedder can be used in a plugin context{}".
