Zusammenfassung

Unter einer Integrierten Schaltung versteht man eine komplette elektronische Schaltung auf einem einkristallinen Halbleiterplättchen. Der am häufigsten verwendete Halbleiter ist Silizium. Daneben wird für spezielle Anwendungen auch GaAs eingesetzt. Seit der Erfindung der Integrierten Schaltung Ende der Fünfziger-Jahre erlebte diese Technik eine in der Geschichte beispiellose Entwicklung.
