Abstract

In 1979, approximately 801 cubic meters (104 curies) of LLRW was generated in Nebraska and disposed of out-of-state. Virtually all of this waste was produced by the two publicly-owned nuclear power plants in the State. As shown in Table 22, the amount and radioactivity of LLRW generated each year in the state has fluctuated. By 1990, however, the volume of LLRW produced per year had been considerably reduced from earlier levels (DOE, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984/a, 1985, 1986/a, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991).
