MMA Releases Sixth Video Commentary on Health Care System Reform
The sixth in the first series of seven video commentaries on Health Care System Reform is now available for viewing on the MMA website HERE. Hope for the Future – Video 1 discussion topics include: Focus on wellness. Use technology. Learn from other countries. Improve the system. Reduce the profit motive. Doctors coming together. They understand the system doesn’t work for everyone, patients, and physicians. We must support the Maine Medical Association statement for health care reform.
Hope for the Future – Video 2 will be released in mid-July 2025. The opinions expressed in these videos are those of the individual and do not necessarily reflect the opinion or policy of the MMA.
The MMA Board of Directors adopted a revised Statement on Reform of the U.S. Health Care System on June 7, 2023. The Board appointed an Ad Hoc Steering Committee on Health System Reform to guide MMA’s use of the Statement in MMA’s advocacy on the topic of reform and to engage members in this important societal debate, regardless of the member’s personal opinion on the future of the U.S. health care system. One of the Committee’s initiatives aimed at engaging members in the debate is a series of short video commentaries from Maine physicians, residents, and medical students.
We hope you take the time to review the video commentaries, and we encourage your feedback. You can also engage in discussion on Health System Reform with members in the Community Forums in the Members Portal of the website (login required).
