The Maine Medical Association’s 172nd Annual Session will take place during the weekend of September 5-7, 2025 at the Harborside Hotel, Spa & Marina in Bar Harbor. The weekend will include opportunities for learning, networking, socializing, and determining leaders and priorities of the MMA for the year ahead.
This year, the Annual Session offers a robust educational program with 11.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Leah Graham, PhD, Program Director at the Jackson Laboratory will give the keynote presentation on Saturday entitled, “The Maine Cancer Genomic Initiative: Redefining Precision Oncology in a Rural State.”
On Sunday, Michael Fine, MD, author of Health Care Revolt, will give a presentation, “Primary Care for All Mainers,” that focuses on health care reform. We hope everyone will be able to join us for the Awards & Inauguration Dinner that will take place on a new night this year: Friday, September 5th. The ceremony will feature the presentation of the Mary Floyd Cushman, MD Award for Exceptional Humanitarian Service as a Medical Volunteer and the President’s Award for Distinguished Service.

Set-up and Exhibiting Times: Set up time is on Friday, September 5 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Set up must be completed by 3:00pm. The Opening Reception with Exhibitors will be at 6:00pm on Friday. On Saturday the continental breakfast will be available in the Exhibit Hall at 7:00am, and there will be two breaks with Exhibitors at 9:00am and 2:00pm.
Meals: Each Exhibiting Company will receive up to 2 complimentary Saturday Breakfast & Lunch meal tickets for their Exhibitor Representatives. Extra Saturday Breakfast & Lunch meal tickets for additional exhibitor representatives or exhibitor guests are $50.00 per person. Tickets for the Friday Awards Dinner and Sunday Breakfast are also available for purchase.
Shipping: If you are shipping your display, use the following address: Harborside Hotel and Marina, 111 West Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609. All exhibitors are responsible for any return shipments. No deliveries of displays will be accepted before September 3, 2025.
Space will be allocated by MMA based on receipt of the exhibit registration form and full payment. Any space not claimed or occupied by 3:00 pm Friday, September 5, may be resold or reassigned by Exhibit Manager. No refunds of exhibit fees will be granted after August 1, 2025.

Mary Floyd Cushman, MD Award for Exceptional Humanitarian Service as a Medical Volunteer Nomination Form
The Maine Medical Association presents the Mary F. Cushman, MD Award each year to recognize the humanitarian service of medical volunteers who serve in Maine, the United States, or abroad. The award is announced at the MMA Annual Session, and includes a $1,000 donation to the institution or organization of the recipient’s choice.
Nominations for the 2025 award are due by Friday, July 18, 2025.
Priority consideration is given to:
- the nomination of a Maine physician who is a member of the Maine Medical Association.
- nominations submitted by members of the Maine Medical Association.
- nominations that, for international volunteering, include training people in other countries to provide care in their own communities.
