Who is Harry Potter? One Person's Search for the Mighty Man
Tania Botticella
November 09, 2000

Harry Who?

Charlie had his Chocolate Factory. Margaret had her crusade for breasts (“We must, we must, we must increase our bust!”) and her adolescent prayers to God. Jacob Two-Two had the dreaded Hooded-Fang to contend with. These fantastic characters often calmed our childhood and adolescent predicaments—it was through them that we learned, well, that we were normal.

And now here comes this Harry Potter guy.

The world awaited his new adventures that were released in J.K. Rowling’s book "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." It resulted in book lover pandemonium: people rushed to reserve their copies online and at bookstores.

Everyone’s talking about him--or should I say every kid is talking about him? Since my childhood days were long ago abandoned, I’m left wondering: who is this man (uh—boy) they call “Harry Potter?”
