O'Meley in for injured Ryles

Australian prop Jason Ryles will miss this weekend's Tri-Nations Test against Great Britain in Wigan.

Ryles has been ruled out after injuring his hamstring at training.

The St George Illawarra prop is also in doubt for Australia's match against France on November 21.

Bulldogs prop Mark O'Meley has replaced Ryles in the 19-man Australian squad and is looking forward to his first Test match for the Kangaroos.

"It's pretty good news to get an opportunity and it's fairly disappointing for Jason, but the opportunity's there for me so I've just got to take it," he said.

In other changes, Scott Hill comes in for Craig Gower at five-eighth, while Craig Fitzgibbon returns from injury.

Shaun Timmins and Matt Bowen have also been named in the squad which will be trimmed to 17 before the match.

Fitzgibbon said the Kangaroos would lose nothing by having Hill reunited with half-back Brett Kimmorley.

"They're both quality players and it'd be good to see if they can strike up a bit of a combination there," he said.

"I guess the fact that they have played with each other at Melbourne is a great boost for the team because they know each other's games pretty well."
