Maps
Here you will find static and dynamic 2D JPG/PNG images and 3D VRML maps of the Internet. These maps are built off of our database using two different graphing engines: Large Graph Layout (LGL) by Alex Adai and Graphviz by Peter North at AT&T; Labs Research. Each graphing engine produces wonderful displays, but they are only as good as the data and graphing language we provide. You can find our test images and some well produced full Internet maps below. Soon we will release the tools to create these maps on your own.
How to view LGL data:
You can view these maps with LGL View the LGL Java viwer (it requires JRE >= 1.4.1).
To view this map in LGL View, download the matching lgl, coords, and edgecolor files. Open open them in order with LGL View (has problems in Windows, works great in Linux)
VRML:
Some of these graphs include VRML wrl files. You will need a VRML browser. Review the FAQ for more information.

Movie 4 is our first hand made animation. The quality is poor and the runtime is too fast, but it gives someone an idea of what we really can do with this stuff once we have some computing power. The image zooms direct into one of EasyNews.com's routers.

| This graph is by far our most complex. It is using over 5 million edges and has an estimated 50 million hop count. We will be producing more maps like this on a dialy basis. We still have yet to fix the color system, but all in due time.

| This is our first full Internet map with color and other graphing logic. RFC1918 addresses have been hashed into a unique checksum so they do not incorrectly overlap with other routers or hosts. The checksums resolve to the same host each time to be sure that all routes connect correctly. Another bit of code also removed the routing loops that made a rather large mess out of previous maps. The colors were based on Class A allocation of IP space too different registrars in the world. The color system is very basic now and rather ugly, I would like to spend some more time in the next week making a better color system.
