Men's Golf

There is an air of excitement surrounding the men’s golf team. The Cobbers are coming off their best regular-season in recent history and are poised to make a run at the top of the conference. In 2010 Concordia sophomore Andrew Whitchurch became the first Cobber golfer to win the MIAC individual title and in 2009 Concordia broke the school record for low team score for single rounds at two invitationals with scores in the 280's.

Leading the Cobbers is coach Duane Siverson, who has been recognized with the prestigious Merit Award by the National Golf Coaches Association. He has also won NCAA state and regional coach of the year awards, and has twice been voted MIAC coach of the year.

Oct. 11 - Cobbers Finish Off Fall Season

Concordia finished off the 2010 fall season by placing seventh at the Twin Cities Classic on Monday. The Cobbers shot a final team score of 915 (302-298-315). Junior Pat Deitz led all CC golfers as he fired a 222 (68-76-78) and finished in a tie for 12th place. MIAC champion Andrew Whitchurch was 23rd.

Oct. 4 - Whitchurch Is MIAC Champion!

Concordia sophomore Andrew Whitchurch became the first Cobber men's golfer to win the MIAC Championship as he tore up Bunker Hills on Monday en route to a 69 and medalist honors at the MIAC Championship Meet. He finished with a final total 215 which is one shot under par on the par 72, 6877-yard course. Whitchurch started the day in a tie for second place, two shots back but then rallied to win by five strokes.

Sept. 30 - 2010 MIAC Meet Preview

The 2010 Concordia-Moorhead men’s golf team will have one very big question to answer when they tee off at this year’s conference tournament meet. Is this the year they break the nine-year drought and post a top 3 finish at the conference meet? The last time the Cobbers finished in the top 3 was in 2001 and since then they have posted six top 5 finishes.
