Music
Music
Music is an integral part of life at Concordia – from the annual Concordia Christmas Concerts that attract audiences of thousands and are broadcast nationally to our 17 major music ensembles, 700 private lessons each week, two music degrees and six majors, and national and international tours.
Our faculty, like renowned composer and conductor Dr. René Clausen, mentor students through challenging coursework, inspire ensembles to touch the lives of people around the world with their music, and collaborate with students as researchers and composers.
And you don’t have to be a music major to take part in our acclaimed music program. Most of our students aren’t. They just have outstanding voice or instrumental talent and we provide them with a perfect outlet.
If you do decide to major in music, we’ll prepare you for a wide variety of careers, from professional musician to music teacher, conductor, composer and more. Concordia’s music department offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in music or music education and a Bachelor of Music degree in education, instrumental performance, vocal performance or theory.
