With a commitment to broad intellectual inquiry and an eye toward social justice, Fairfield's faculty and students delve, engage, and report on issues that impact fields ranging from ecopsychology to ancient Greek caryatids to microfinance. Their work inspires and enriches the lives of others - locally and around the world.

At Fairfield, where a faculty-student ratio of 13-1 fosters strong mentorships, students have access to faculty scholars who highly value student research and creative activity. Most majors include a capstone experience and encourage internships, study abroad, and independent study. These experiences add significantly to a Fairfield education and credentials.

Many of our student researchers go on to graduate level work. As a testament to the University's commitment to scholarship, a startling number of Fairfield seniors have won Fulbright Fellowhips - year-long initiatives that support post-graduate research in other countries. Many others, both graduate and undergraduate, are published in academic journals and present at national conferences.
