Nintendo at E3 2011
Hold up, buddy.
The Major Announcements
This year, things got kicked off with a presentation of the Zelda Symphony and the announcement of concert tours which are still going to this day. After a smattering of 3DS news and game announcements, Nintendo got down to business, announcing the title of their new system, the Wii U.

A reel showed off the Wii U controller and system features like a second screen, accelerometer, microphone, gyrometer, and two circle pads (instead of analog sticks). HD Nintendo graphics were shown for the first time, including an HD Zelda experience, which showed up as a demo on the show floor.
A montage showed third party Wii U games like Darksiders 2, Assassin's Creed and Batman: Arkham City.
The Chase Mii and Battle Mii tech demos for the Wii U were shown on the show floor, along with a Zelda HD demo where you could change the camera angles. A version of New Super Mario Bros. in HD that ran on both the Wii U controller screen and TV was also shown.
