Nintendo at E3 1999
Hold up, buddy.
E3 1999 returned to Los Angeles, where the expo would remain permanently. The Dreamcast was introduced at this expo, and the PlayStation 2 was already known to be in production. Nintendo continued to push the Nintendo 64 and Game Boy, while also announcing their own successor to the 64 bit generation.
The Big Announcements

At its pre-E3 press conference, Nintendo Chairman Howard Lincoln announced that Nintendo's next console featured some impressive technology for the day, and gave details on the CPU and its DVD player. DVD movie playback was also announced, but removed from the final version of the GameCube. He also announced a list of developers including EAD, Rare, Left Field, Retro Studios and NSTC (Nintendo Software Technology Corporation).

There was a large booth dedicated to Pokemon Yellow and another to Star Wars: Episode I - Racer.
