Westcott House and the University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge Divinty Faculty

Westcott House has an historical and close relationship with Cambridge University and in particular the Divinity Faculty. Some Westcott students read for Cambridge University degrees as part of their training (Tripos, BTh, MPhil, PhD). They are affiliated to a University college after they have accepted a place at Westcott, and are able to take advantage of all the social and academic facilities the University provides. At the same time, they remain integral members of the Westcott House community, and they pursue their studies within the same structures of prayer and worship, pastoral engagement, and common life as other members.

Members of Westcott House may use the Divinity Faculty Library, and attend lectures in the Faculty. Theology graduates are usually welcome at the appropriate graduate seminars.

Westcott House and Anglia Ruskin University

Anglia Ruskin University

Westcott has a growing partnership with Anglia Ruskin University. The University has its origins in the Cambridge School of Art founded by John Ruskin in 1858. Awarded university status in 1992 as Anglia Polytechnic University, the name was changed to Anglia Ruskin in 2004. The University now serves 28,000 students with centres in Cambridge and Chelmsford, and a number of regional partners, of which the Cambridge Theological Federation is one. The Federation staff are the teaching faculty for the Anglia Ruskin programmes undertaken by Westcott students: the Certificate, Diploma or BA in Christian Theology, and MA in Pastoral Theology (new windows).
