We, Amy and James, have benefited greatly from reading backpacking trip reports and have created this site to return the favor. DoingMiles is about our human-powered travels. We hike frequently, bike occasionally, and have taken one long canoe trip.

Our reports are categorized under the Trip Reports menu item. We focus on essential information and keep our reports free of extraneous crap. All reports include an interactive route map, a list of trip-planning resources, and our assessment of the route. When a route is not well described by other sources we endeavor to provide information a future traveler would find useful.

We have a few articles about Techniques & Gear. We use affiliate links and donate the revenue to conservation groups.
