Exciting changes are occurring at Ballarat Health Services, with the Drummond Street Site seeing:
Construction of a new Multi deck car park inclusive of a helipad
Demolition and construction of a new building on Drummond Street
Completion of the new MRI facility
Refurbishment of the Children’s ward
Multi Deck Car Park and Helipad
The Multi Deck Car Park redevelopment is an expansion of the previous Mair Street car park facilities.
The new car park will incorporate 3 levels of car parking, providing an additional 207 car parks for staff, patients and visitors.
The car park entrance will be located on Mair Street, and a new feature of the car park will be a drop off zone for patients that will facilitate access to the hospital through existing and new entrances being created as part of the construction of the New Drummond Street Building.
The helipad, located above the top level of the car park, will provide improved efficiency in accessing services at Ballarat Health Services, as well as efficiency in transferring patients out to other facilities for ongoing care.
The car park opened in January 2015.
Gardiner Pittard Building
The new Gardiner Pittard Building will consist of 3 levels (ground, levels 1 and 2).
Visitors will be welcomed into the new spacious, light filled Front of House/reception area on the ground floor. This area will be accessible both from Drummond Street and the Mair Street Car Park.
A new lift block will facilitate access to the upper levels of the new building.
The first level will allow for future expansion of theatre services, while the second level will incorporate a fully fitted out inpatient general ward.
