Currently, Glyphhanger shows the weight improvement from source font to optimized font, which can look like cheating when the formats are different:
It might be useful to
- either make it more obvious that formats are different, with simple wording
- or make the script compute a font

There's an interesting proposed change on Chrome Platform Status that is worth keeping an eye on.
According to the associated document it could reach stable at the end of April.
