Areas affected: Mansbridge and Woodmill on the River Itchen
ACTIVE
Started at: 07:24 GMT on Mon 16 November
Flooding is expected - immediate action required
The Lower River Itchen remains very high following heavy rainfall over the weekend. High tide at Southampton is forecast at 11:09 on 16/11/2020 and 13:21 on 16/11/2020. The tide is still higher than normal, but will be lower than recorded in recent days, forecast at 5.03 m Chart Datum (2.29 mAOD). Given that flows in the river are still very high, for 1 hour either side of high tide, water may still come out of bank, flooding the access road and car parking areas near the White Swan Pub and the car garage at Mansbridge. Impacts should be much less than experienced over the weekend. For the next 4 days, the weather should be dry, and tide levels continue to lower. This will give the river a chance to return to normal and the situation will improve. The sea door at Woodmill remains open, and it is helping to lower levels in the river. We recommend closing the defence gates around the pub. This Flood Warning will be updated by 18:00 on Monday 16/11/2020.

Started at: 19:51 GMT on Sun 15 November
Flooding is possible - be prepared
A high tide of 4.94m AOD is expected at Richmond at around 02:45am on Monday 16th November.
Due to high fluvial flows coming down the River Crane, the Crane Tidal Gates will not be able to close to hold back the incoming tide from the River Thames. As a result, the incoming tide will flow up the River Crane, which, when combined with the fluvial flow already in the channel, will push levels very high.
Some flooding of gardens and low lying land is expected in the early hours of Monday morning, although we do not expect any flooding to buildings. Any flooding is likely to be of short duration covering the period around high tide.

Areas affected: The tidal River Yare from Thorpe St Andrew to Breydon Water
ACTIVE
Started at: 15:33 GMT on Sun 15 November
Flooding is possible - be prepared
This message has been issued because there is a possibility of some minor flooding to riverside roads and footpaths on Monday 16th November, between 9:30am and 15:30pm, and for the next two tides after this one (overnight on Monday 16th November and during the day on Tuesday 17th November). High water levels may last for a few days until the high tides at Great Yarmouth have passed. This is due to the natural tide locking effect of high tidal waters moving up the rivers from Great Yarmouth that restricts the normal drainage out to sea of the Broads river system at low tide. We have issued this message now to give sufficient lead in time ahead of tomorrow morning. We expect to see high water levels in Brundall and Reedham riverside areas. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate. Take care on waterside roads and footpaths and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation.
