As of May 9th, the Trump Administration canceled the Digital Equity Act grant programs. The Digital Equity Act is a congressionally authorized program. ALA is concerned regarding the abrupt end of the Digital Equity Act programs and is exploring the impacts of this loss of funding for libraries. For more information check our FAQ.

Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Programs
The federal government passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to advance digital equity, literacy, and inclusion for all. Learn more about some of the IIJA programs and their status. Please note some of the programmatic information may no longer be applicable given recent program changes and grant terminations.
Digital Equity Act
The Digital Equity Act grant programs were canceled by the Trump Administration. For more information read our FAQ. The Digital Equity Act (DEA) is a $2.75 billion program that funds state planning, state implementation of the plan, and national competitive grants and is administered by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD)
On June 6th, NTIA made changes to the BEAD Program. Visit NTIA’s website to learn more about these changes. BEAD is a $42.45 billion program focused on building infrastructure to increase adoption of high-speed Internet and is administered by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
Affordable Connectivity Program
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) has ended. ACP was administered by the Federal Communications Commission.
