About the Cover

Shown is a Fluorogold (FG) retrograde tracer injection site (cyan) in the basolateral amygdala (BLA). This injection selectively labeled neuronal projections from the infralimbic medial prefrontal cortex to the BLA and enabled quantification of the activity of these projections. Acute stress decreases the activity of these projections in a way that correlates with deficits in fear extinction. A DAPI stain (blue) highlights all cell bodies. See the article by Vitor A. L.
