Strategic Planning for Educational and Historic Sites, Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, Kentucky, Kentucky

July 22, 2025

The National Forest Foundation (“NFF”) is working with the USDA Forest Service (“USFS”) at the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (“LBLNRA”) to help develop a five-year strategic plan to articulate a clear vision for four important educational and historic sites. These sites include Homeplace Working Farm and Living History Museum, the adjacent South Bison Range, the nearby Great Western Iron Furnace, and Cleo Griffin House (together referred to as “Project Sites”). The strategic plan will address the following: Where should the Forest Service and its partners, the Land Between the Lakes Association (“LBLA”) and the NFF, take the Project Sites in the next five years? The developed strategy must be translated into actionable and measurable tactics and identify the anticipated improvements of the Project Sites related to visitation, visitor engagement, satisfaction, and cost recovery.

Responses should be emailed by July 22, 2025.
