Remove Andorra and San Marino from the template. Andorra doesn't have a cathedral within its borders, with the Spanish Diocese of Urgell serving as ecclesiastical seat for that country. San Marino does have one co-cathedral, but again, it'll never merit a "list of" article. Fernando 17:17, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
Not done: This is a general wrapper template, however please see the documentation for how to suppress individual entries on the page you refer to and others. CMD (talk) 19:22, 11 October 2024 (UTC)

Hello, could an editor with more experience kindly add National symbols of Armenia to the following template (its currently red linked)? {{Europe topic}}
Thank you in advance, Archives908 (talk) 20:15, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- To editor Archives908: just fyi, all that was needed was a redirect at Symbols of Armenia to target National symbols of Armenia. That has been
completed. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 20:26, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

Description of suggested change:
Diff:
− | + | [[Liechtenstein National Archives|Liechtenstein]] |
swap redirect for actual page name on national archives European template. TheBritinator (talk) 18:26, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
Not done: To editor TheBritinator: this template cannot be changed in this way. This template is a general type that is governed by its
|prefix=
parameter. For example, in the Liechtenstein National Archives article, this template's prefix is "National Archives of", so all of the entries' links begin with that prefix. This is why the National Archives of Liechtenstein redirect was created in the first place. It's creation turned the Liechtenstein link from a red link to a blue link. It cannot be changed. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 21:05, 11 June 2025 (UTC)- Understood. Thanks for the information. TheBritinator (talk) 21:35, 11 June 2025 (UTC)

For the LGBT history in Europe page, I am requesting a move and relink of all pages with "LGBT" in the titles to "LGBTQ", per the move discussion in August 2024. If this request is denied, I would like an explanation, given the retitle to LGBTQ is wide-ranging with hundreds of articles on the English Wikipedia. Carlinal (talk) 00:26, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- This is the wrong venue. {{Europe topic}} passes the parameter you give it unchanges, so
{{Europe topic|LGBT in}}
and{{Europe topic|LGBTQ in}}
both work. * Pppery * it has begun... 04:26, 13 July 2025 (UTC)- Well, given this particular template is also both widely used and not exactly accessible, is it okay to ask for assistance? Carlinal (talk) 11:37, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Carlinal: Assistance where? Please link a page and state the wanted change clearly. I tried to guess it but LGBT history in Europe has redirected to LGBTQ rights in Europe since September. The bottom displays {{LGBTQ rights in Europe}} which hasn't been edited since October and uses this template to make links to LGBTQ titles. PrimeHunter (talk) 16:57, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- I found this problem on "Timeline of LGBTQ history in Germany", where "LGBT history in Europe" there is named on the bottom template. Carlinal (talk) 17:16, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Oh...looks like there's more pages in need of moving, then. Carlinal (talk) 17:18, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Carlinal: Timeline of LGBTQ history in Germany says
{{Europe topic|LGBT history in}}
which produces:

- Changing it to
{{Europe topic|LGBTQ history in}}
would produce:
- Changing it to
- The latter has far more red links at the moment so the change should not be done now but maybe later. Page moves are beyond the scope of this talk page which is for a general template to make links to similarly-named European pages (sometimes redirects) about a given topic. It's used for many unrelated topics, e.g. at Template:Europe topic#List of wrapper templates using Template:Europe topic. Template:Europe topic#Altering the link used for a specific entity shows how to link directly to a differently named article instead of creating a redirect to it. Don't do this when the template is called directly in articles. The change would then have to be made in every article. It's meant for wrapper templates like {{LGBTQ rights in Europe}}. PrimeHunter (talk) 18:12, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- By the way, I use User:BrandonXLF/GreenRedirects to easily spot redirects. PrimeHunter (talk) 18:15, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Every link (except the red South Ossetia) made by
{{Europe topic|LGBT history in}}
is a redirect. I havent examined whether the targets have LGBT without Q somewhere in the title. PrimeHunter (talk) 18:21, 13 July 2025 (UTC)- Yeah...now I realize the amount of effort needed for the moves to be processed and completed. Likely would last over a month. It made me think on the amount of weight needed to move so many articles at once, so some patience is definitely needed. That being said, I'm thankful you responded this way. Not sure how to end this comment, but this was really helpful. Carlinal (talk) 21:36, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Carlinal: Template:Europe topic#Changing the title could change the displayed title but again, it has to be done in each article calling the template directly. And if somebody later wants to change something else then they also have to edit each article. It would be better to create a wrapper template like {{LGBTQ history in Europe}} and call that in each article. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:05, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
