InterBase Installer Update
In this release, we have updated the installer technology used to install InterBase Server editions on both Windows and Linux, to offer a more robust and modern installation experience.
In addition to the core installer engine, we are now embedding the 64-bit version of the Eclipse Temurin by Adoptium OpenJDK JRE 21.0.6, used by the installer and some internal Embarcadero tools. This runs seamlessly on the 64-bit version of InterBase, available on both Windows and Linux platforms.
Considering that Adoptium OpenJDK JRE 21.0.6 is 64-bit only, if you need to install InterBase 2020 Update 7 Server editions on a 32-bit version of Windows or Linux, please refer to the information on docwiki before you install it.
InterBase 2020 Update 7 also includes enhancements for performing silent installs of the patch/update installer on Windows, for scripted automated installs.
General Quality Improvements
InterBase 2020 Update 7 also includes stability fixes for InterBase server core and tools (including the IBConsole client application) developed to enhance customer experience and long term uninterrupted use. Relevant changes include:
- Enhanced the IBConsole Interactive SQL results screen when returning a null or empty string, ensuring you can still see the result even if no data is returned.
- Improved the IBConsole Monitor Servers feature and Performance Monitoring content when saving to a file to include complete logs, making it easier to reproduce a specific scenario.
- Address a specific issue resulting in an error when selecting from a view with UNIONs
