BCUL and APL Joint Tour of Denver Area Libraries

The Buildings and Operations, Buildings for College and University Libraries, and Architecture for Public Libraries committees are sponsoring a tour of Denver area libraries. Both academic and public libraries are finding ways within new and existing buildings to serve their diverse communities in service to their individual missions but ever mindful of the customer experience.
The libraries on this tour illustrate contemporary designs used to create beautiful, versatile, and unique community-focused library spaces in the city of Denver.
Representatives from each of the libraries will share information about their location including lessons learned from recent renovations. Library staff and administration representing their respective libraries will highlight the spaces and services of:
- An academic library serving the students, faculty, and staff of three leading urban institutions
- The recent renovations to an architecturally significant Central Library
- The unique perspective of an existing public library branch designed to provide access to library collections and services with a museum and research collection focused on the African-American experience in Denver and throughout the Rocky Mountain West
- The renovation of an existing DPL branch to serve a diverse multi-lingual community
- And a tour of a newly completed Denver Public Library branch honoring the legacy of a local advocate dedicated to education and community work
Information will be provided to tour participants in advance of the tours and the schedule at each location will allow time for questions. Tour participants will be traveling by bus on this all-day tour. Lunch will be provided.

Cancellation Policy
Refund requests must be submitted in writing prior to October 21, 2025, and are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. The Forum and all of its events are offered on a cost-recovery basis and may be cancelled due to adverse events beyond the control of Core or if there is insufficient registration. In the event that a Core-sponsored activity is cancelled, Core cannot be responsible for any cancellation/charge assessed to registrants by airlines, travel agencies, or hotels. Core does not provide refunds for registration or personal expenses due to weather or travel related circumstances.
