Kafka's birthday again, 12 years after the one with the Google doodle. I admire the flowers for blooming although it looks dry. It took a week to get the composer of Mission: Impossible to the main page. The concert I listened to was remarkable, pic added to the performer. When I wrote her story yesterday, I thought of you, but was too tired to deliver ;) - Also a late nod to Erik Satie, - there was no room for him on Wikipedia's main page on the centenary of his death although I tried three times. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:53, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
- I personally wouldn't worry about trying to get stuff on the main page. I did once say that "DYK should probably be taken outside and shot" and I do sort of feel that way some of the time. A good reason for DYK is if you've written a new article and want a peer review - the crucial thing here is if the review recommends against being put on the main page, but the article is still improved, that's still a positive action for the encyclopedia. I felt a bit browbeated after I recommended against putting Bonnie Blue and Belle Delphine on the main page. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:42, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- Well, for years I got facts there, but for last five years, the tendency is strongly towards the quirky and sensational aspects of subjects, rather than achievements. But the main page also has ITN and OTD, and in both corners reviewing is easier, and facts more important than quirks. - Check out my talk, - if you have little time, listen to Gilda Cruz-Romo (ITN) in the final scene of Aida, if you have more read her article, and if you have still more check out my music, some sung with me in choir, some played by friends, all heard with friends. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:05, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- Nice change: today you can listen to what the DYK says. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:18, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- If you like Brahms, I recommend the streaming of yesterday's concert. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:08, 13 July 2025 (UTC)

- I don't know what I did "supporting". I understand not explaining. - Three Ukrainian topics were on the main page today, at least at the beginning, RD and DYK, - see my talk. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:24, 20 July 2025 (UTC)

Page deletion
[edit]Hello, You deleted the "One-Shot Elites" page. OSE is an international hacking organization that is extremely important to today's modern society. You left the excuse: "Article about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject".
You did not have to delete it. If you thought that the article needed to highlight the importance more, you could have contacted me or any other OSE member. Right now OSE is very mad, and I'm worried you might get hacked.
Furthermore, how can pages like https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/UTTP exist, but One-Shot Elites has to be deleted?
I ask you to restore the page before this situation escalates, I have had personal experience with One-Shot Elites (OSE), and they have some of the world's top-notch hackers. They're not the kind of kids that install cheats in video games, they're not playing around. This is not a threat from me, but a warning to stay on guard, I guess?
Have a good day,
From Alpha-Thinker (talk) 23:51, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
Furthermore, how can pages like https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/UTTP exist, but One-Shot Elites has to be deleted?
- You seem to be confusing Wiktionary with Wikipedia. Celjski Grad (talk) 08:26, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- Same company runs it Alpha-Thinker (talk) 22:26, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'll let other admins decide what to do with your account, but I'm going to say this - "some of the world's top-notch hackers" are people like Richard Stallman, Linus Torvalds, Ken Thompson, Mark Zbikowski, Dennis Ritchie and Steve Wozniak, all of whom use their real names. And as Eric S Raymond eloquently put it, "Real hackers call these people ‘crackers’ and want nothing to do with them. Real hackers mostly think crackers are lazy, irresponsible, and not very bright, and object that being able to break security doesn't make you a hacker any more than being able to hotwire cars makes you an automotive engineer. ..... If you want to be a cracker, go read the alt.2600 newsgroup and get ready to do five to ten in the slammer after finding out you aren't as smart as you think you are." Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:01, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- I wasn't talking about me. I was talking about OSE? Alpha-Thinker (talk) 22:27, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- And for those interested, the article (with no sources) as deleted read as follows:
- One-Shot Elites (OSE) is a professional hacking organization of around 40 members in their prime. they are headed by the Grand Council of 7.
- Plague (Founder)
- Immortal (Leader)
- Unspeakable (Advisor)
- Icery (Right-hand)
- Stinger (Left-hand)
- Starfall (Exploiter)
- Visual (Enforcer)
- They have developed two hacking softwares, called "The Experiments, and "Zues' Wrath". One-Shot Elites was started on Scratch, but has since spread to websites all over the internet.
- They have fought 4 big cyberwars, and numerous small ones, with them only losing 1. After losing to the ST (Scratch Team) in their first major cyberwar on Scratch, they shrunk to around 30 members. They won the second war against the ST, with almost zero losses. Then the civil war, which split OSE in four. The number of their members has since shrunk to just over 20. The third cyber war with the ST resulted in a stalemate. Various OSE members' wifi and IP have been banned by the ST as a result. "One-Shot Elites" is now a semi-banned word in Scratch, with projects and studios being removed if you have it. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:03, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- I would love to see a technical write-up of the WiFi banning method that ST used. Celjski Grad (talk) 14:24, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- Wow, love the worldbuilding. I would read a book about the great cyberwars. In all seriousness, I'm glad that I wasn't on public fora when I was a teenager so I couldn't do stuff like this. Weirdguyz (talk) 16:01, 9 July 2025 (UTC)

List of municipalities in Missouri
[edit]Hello, it seems that per this discussion you, in effect, deleted (by altering the article to a redirect) List of municipalities in Missouri when the aforementioned discussion to merge List of cities in Missouri into List of municipalities in Missouri was met with no consensus. It seems that discussion could have only resulted in no changer (two parallel articles), or the closure of the List of Cities (and presumably list of villages) and their integration into List of Municipalities (since municipalities encompass both). As the primary creator of the List of Municipalities, I acted (as I described in my discussion comment), based on the merge suggestion that was formerly on top of the list of cities page. The list of municipalities article, matched that of other states and had the most up-to-date information with the only shortcoming being the lack of formatting niceties (like county seats being distinguished and population change coloration).
Basically, I think the effective deletion of the List of municipalities in Missouri article should be reversed because a no-consensus vote on the deletion/merging of the List of cities in Missouri article should have had no bearing on whether the List of municipalities in Missouri article would be deleted and because the municipalities article (with the updated formatting and proper merging from the cities and villages article would be a better, more consistent with other states, article for Wikipedia. I personally can make the formatting updates (now that I know how to do it) and would appreciate if you reverse your decision. Thank you! SamuelNelsonGISP (talk) 17:50, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
- It seems you may have closed the discussion but did not actually delete the article. So I'll tag @Thebiguglyalien to this. My apologies. SamuelNelsonGISP (talk) 17:53, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
- I acted on the comment at Talk:List of municipalities in Missouri#Merger proposal that said a merger had been "completed". A completed merger means only one page remains, so I finished the process by redirecting the lower quality one into the higher quality one. I have no particular interest in these articles and anyone can feel free to undo, switch around, reformat, etc. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 18:20, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
- I closed the discussion as "no consensus", noting specifically there was not a consensus to delete anything, and a decision on whether to keep the article or merge it could be done without any administrator involvement. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:33, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
