🚨 Critical Stability Update

This is a mandatory update for all FocusGuard Pro users.

We have identified and patched a critical issue in the previous version that caused system instability (black screens or freezing) when blocking specific applications that generate popup overlays (such as Internet Download Manager).

🐛 Critical Bug Fixes

• Fixed System Freeze/Black Screen: Resolved a threading conflict in the BlockingWorker that occurred when the app attempted to close unresponsive or modal windows (e.g., IDM download dialogs). The app now handles these edge cases gracefully without locking the UI.
• Safe Process Termination: Refined the "Strict Mode" logic. It now uses isolated subprocess calls with hidden window flags to ensure taskkill operations do not interfere with your active screen rendering.

⚡ Performance Improvements

• Optimized Blocking Loop: Increased the safety buffer in the scanning thread. This reduces CPU usage while maintaining effective distraction blocking.
• Enhanced Error Handling: The background worker is now resilient to pygetwindow access denied errors, preventing the app from crashing silently.

🛡️ For v11.7 Users

If you are currently running v11.7, you will be prompted to perform a Mandatory Update upon opening the app. This is to ensure your system stability.

3. The installer will automatically close any running instance of FocusGuard and update the files.

Architecture & Security Update

FocusGuard Pro v11.7 introduces structural changes to file management and update protocols.

• UAC Removal: Removed the requirement for Administrator privileges to run the application. The desktop shortcut no longer displays the UAC shield.
• Config Migration: focus_config.json and crash_log.txt have been moved from Program Files to %APPDATA%\FocusGuardPro.
