PLA Committees
The PLA Conference, Public Libraries magazine, and our annual survey (just to name a few) are all direct outcomes of the participation of our members on PLA committees. All PLA members are urged to apply. We need the talent and skill of dedicated professionals like you!
Appointments
Each spring, the PLA president-elect will appoint PLA members to the committees and advisory groups you see listed below. If you are interested in volunteering to serve on one of these groups, please complete the volunteer form (ALA login required) by Thursday, January 22, 2026 to be considered for the 2026–2027 service term. Please note that PLA is not able to accommodate all volunteer requests; however we will keep your name and committee preferences for two years to allow for two rounds of committee appointments.
