National Research Data Infrastructure for and with Computer Science (NFDIxCS)

NFDIxCS promotes the implementation of the FAIR Data Principles for computer science (CS) research data and software artifacts.
Therefore, NFDIxCS will establish an organizational, technical, collaborative, and interoperable infrastructure to join the available forces of relevant services and actors from and for computer science.

Objectives

  • Promoting the implementation of FAIR Data Principles for informatics research data and software artifacts

  • Simplifying the citation of software and computer science data

  • Modernizing the publication processes and culture of computer science and its applications

  • Supporting the application of computer science methods in collaboration with other scientific disciplines

  • Sharing experiences and knowledge of the informatics community on system architectures, processes and standards

Measures

  • Identification, definition and deployment of services for storing complex domain-specific data objects across the breadth of computer science disciplines

  • Encapsulating interconnected research
artefacts within the Research Data Management Container (RDMC)

  • Targeted community development to drive cultural change, support the next generation of researchers, negotiate practices and norms and develop the skills to handle research data responsibly
