Unemployed Workers' Advocate

The Connecticut Department of Labor was recently notified that funding for the Unemployed Workers’ Advocate Unit (UWA) was removed from the budget. Pursuant to CGS § 31-2e, the Unemployed Workers’ Advocate Unit (UWA) is contingent upon available appropriations.

Due to this unexpected budget change, the Unemployed Workers’ Advocate Unit was closed on June 30, 2025.

If you are a claimant with an existing UWA case, you have received an email that requires a response within five (5) business days.
