How do I generate registration IDs using the Admin Tool?

You can use the Admin Tool to generate registration IDs.

Create new registration IDs

To create new registration IDs:

  1. Sign in to the Admin Tool
  2. Click on the 'General' tab.
  3. Under 'Manage User IDs', click on 'Create/Manage Remote Access Registration IDs'.
  4. Select a group to associate the resulting remote access user profiles to. Then enter the email addresses of the users you want to receive registration IDs. You can also set membership date ranges if you want to limit the access dates of the users who will receive the registration IDs.
  5. Click 'Submit'.

After completing these steps, each email address you entered will be sent a registration ID and password set along with instructions on how to register for remote access.

Search for registration IDs

The Search Registration IDs page allows you to conduct a search for registration IDs generated in an Account or a Group.

To search for registration IDs:

  1. Click on the 'General' tab.
  2. Under 'Manage User IDs', click on 'Manage Remote Access Registration IDs'.
  3. Click 'Search registration IDs'.
  4. You’ll then be redirected to the following page:

    Here you can enter:
    Group level Administrators will only see the Group for which they are admin. An Account level Administrator will have access to all Groups associated with the Account.
    • Registration ID field – enter the registration ID that you would like to retrieve.
    • Email address field– enter the e-mail address associated with the registration ID you want to locate.
    • All Groups – allows you to limit your search to all groups/department associated to the account.
  5. Click 'Search', once you have entered the necessary details.
  6. Click 'View All' to view available registration IDs on the account or group.
  • Search is not case sensitive.
  • You may use asterisk(*) for a wildcard search.
  • Search result will not display the registration IDs when the credentials have been used to register for an account or when the credentials have been linked to an existing Elsevier profile.
