Head of the Department of Economics at the Bolivian Catholic University

I am the head of the Department of Economics at the Bolivian Catholic University "San Pablo" located in La Paz-Bolivia. I worked as Senior Researcher at the Institute for Advanced Development Studies (INESAD Foundation) from 2006 to 2022, and between 2015 and 2017, I have been the Executive Director. I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Chile (Latin American Doctorate Program) a MsC. in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and a B.A. in Economics from the Bolivian Catholic University. I am member of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) and of the Bolivian Society of Economists (SEBOL) where I served as its first president between 2010 and 2011. I am currently the editor of the Latin American Journal of Economic Development (LAJED). My main interests are macroeconomics, economic growth, economic policy and development economics.
