Safety & Security Policy
Code of Conduct
All Patrons/Guests/Fairgoers are expected to follow ALL safety policies and the guest code of conduct, including:
- No loitering, blocking access points or walking in large groups that inconvenience others.
- Patrons/Guests/Fairgoers will enjoy every event free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language or obscene gestures.
- Patrons/Guests/Fairgoers who engage in running, fighting, throwing objects or any other violent or offensive action will be immediately ejected from the grounds.
- Anyone wearing clothing or other personal items that the Fair Management/Security deems offensive will not be allowed on the Fairgrounds.
Guests who violate the Code of Conduct or prevent others from enjoying the Fair may be subject to ejection without a refund.
Somerset County Sheriff/Security
All emergency concerns should be directed to security or fairgrounds personnel. Security personnel are on duty during the Fair hours, both on the grounds and in the Sheriff’s office, located across from Constitution Hall, near Gate 1 (Park Street).
Skowhegan State Fair Security Policy
Patrons/Guests/Fairgoers assume any and all risks and responsibilities associated with attending the Skowhegan State Fair, including seen and unforeseen matters. In the case of any such claims arising from the Skowhegan State Fair, attendees expressly wave and agree to release the venue and all its agents, performers, from those claims. Attendees agree to abide by all venue gate/security/parking/admission policies and procedures.
The venue reserves the right to refuse admission to any attendee in the event of disorderly or abusive conduct, inappropriate language, or as management determines. The venue also reserves the right to eject or decline admission to any person(s) for behavior or language deemed inappropriate by management/security. Under these provisions, the attendee is entitled to no refunds or remuneration of any kind.
The following are prohibited….
Patrons/Guests/Fairgoers/Exhibitors utilizing our Campground – Please view Camping Rules & Regulations
- Combustible Items, Fireworks, Explosives or Flammable objects
- Firearms, Ammunition and Weapons of any kind, including but not limited to guns, knives, scissors, stun guns, tasers, lasers, brass knuckles
- Mace/Pepper spray
- Oversized bags, Duffle bags
- Outside Alcoholic Beverages
- Smoking/Vaping in the Barns, Buildings, Grandstand, Coliseum, Parks or Eating venues
- Drones
- Hoverboards/Segway
- Pets and emotional support animals (Service animals are allowed as defined by the ADA)
- Shirts and shoes are required at all times.
- Any and all additional items deemed inappropriate, harmful or unsafe
Permitted Items…
- Bags/backpacks, Child/diaper bags. Please use clear bags if possible
- Medical equipment i.e. oxygen tanks, medical devices
Please leave unnecessary items at home.
The Skowhegan State Fair & its security reserves the right to search all bags, backpacks, coolers, purses, containers, etc., upon request while on the fairgrounds. Refusal to comply will result in denied entry and/or removal from the fairgrounds.
The Skowhegan State Fair & its security reserves the right to immediately remove any objectionable items from the Fairgrounds, including but not limited to items for sale and items used as promotional materials and in displays.
The Skowhegan State Fair & its security reserves the right to confiscate any such item(s) which will not be returned.
The Skowhegan State Fair & its security has the right to refuse entry or remove individuals for non-compliance. The Skowhegan State Fair & its security is not responsible for damage or loss to vehicles and/or personal property.

Ticketing Policy
The ticket is only valid for the date, time, event, and area issued on the ticket. The ticket is non-transferable or redeemable for cash. Unauthorized reproduction of any ticket is punishable by law. No refunds or exchanges except as provided herein. Date and time of the event are subject to change without notice. All rights reserved.
The Skowhegan State Fair is not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced Fair admission/parking passes and/or gate receipts.
By purchasing a ticket, Fairgoers agree to enter the Fair and agree to the possibility of photos or videos by individuals, companies, or media.
Demonstrations Policy
Demonstrations, protests, and vigils of any nature are prohibited on the grounds and premises of The Skowhegan State Fairgrounds, during The Skowhegan State Fair, and all events and functions.
Lost Patrons/Guests/Fairgoers
Lost children, adults or persons with special needs should be taken to the Sherriff’s Office Located across from Constitution Hall, near Gate 1 (Park Street Gate).
Photography/Video Policy
Please be advised that all participants involved in any and all Skowhegan State Fair Activities are subject to being photographed. Such photographs may be used by the Skowhegan State Fair without an obligation to provide compensation to those photographed.
The Skowhegan State Fair reserves the right to photograph, video, and conduct live/NON-LIVE feeds of all events during The Skowhegan State Fair and all other functions and events on premises without reimbursement for use in marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes.
Upon entering the fairgrounds, Patrons/Guests/Fairgoers authorize the Skowhegan State Fair and its departments to take photographs, audio and video recordings of Patrons/Guests/Fairgoers at any Fair facility, park, or program for publications used in promoting Fair programs.
Service Animal Policy
The Skowhegan State Fair follows ADA guidelines regarding service animals. A service animal is trained to perform tasks for individuals with disabilities. ADA regulations state that the specific work or task an animal has been trained to perform must be directly related to a person’s disability. According to the ADA, dogs and other animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals. Emotional support or comfort animals are not permitted. Service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness and under the control of the owner at all times.
First Aid
The First Aid Building is located beside Constitution Hall, at Gate 1 (Park Street Gate). Should an emergency require an ambulance, please call 911. There may be an ambulance on the grounds, however this service is not connected to our announcement system, EMT’s will reach your emergency faster by dialing 911.
