Learn and explore at Pemaquid Beach Park
Since 2003, Pemaquid Watershed Association (now part of Coastal Rivers) has partnered with the Town of Bristol’s Parks & Recreation Commission to offer a nature center at Pemaquid Beach.
During the summer months, visitors to the park are invited to stop in to borrow books, enjoy fun learning activities, browse displays, and play games. There is no additional cost to visit the Discovery Center, though Pemaquid Beach Park charges an entrance fee.
A touch tank takes place every Thursday in the Discovery Center from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Visitors can explore a fascinating assortment of local marine life including sea urchins, anemones, sea stars, and many others.
Touch Tank Thursdays begin on July 3 and continue through August 21. If Pemaquid Beach is closed on any Thursday, the event will be rescheduled for Friday at the same time, dependent on volunteer availability. This program is made possible through a partnership with the University of Maine’s Darling Marine Center.
