Doctor Creek Campground

Overview
The recently renovated Doctor Creek Campground is located on the south end of the Fish Lake Basin on the Fishlake National Forest. This is a popular spot for visitors as the opportunity to camp, fish, go boating, kayaking, hiking, visiting Pando, wildlife viewing and scenic driving are all great options here.

Facilities
The campground contains two group sites that can accommodate up to 150 people each, both with shelters, tables, campfire rings and grills.  All campsites include a family unit and tent pad. Flush toilet bathrooms are available and drinking water is provided during the operating season from faucets located throughout the campground. A dump station is located at the campground entrance. Roads and parking spurs are paved within the campground.

Natural Features
Doctor Creek sits at an elevation of 9,000 feet on the southern tip of Fish Lake near Mallard Bay. A series of ponds, known as Coots Slough, dot the area just south of the campground. Aspens provide limited shade in this sagebrush-covered area. The campground is situated within the Pando aspen clone, one of the largest living organisms in the world. Sites on the outer edge of the campground offer excellent lake views, but no shade.

Recreation
Fish Lake is Utah's largest natural mountain lake covering 2,500 acres. It is famous for its 20–40-pound Mackinaw trout. Anglers also enjoy fishing for rainbow trout, perch, Kokanee salmon and splake. Boating, canoeing and wildlife viewing are popular activities. The scenic Lakeshore National Recreation Trail extends around the eastern side of the lake.
