University of Maine System: FEMA Hazard Mitigation Plan
The University of Maine System has developed a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Plan to address natural disasters that could impact our campuses such as severe storms, wildfires, and flooding. The plan addresses risk mitigation strategies to prevent losses while increasing our resiliency in response to these risks. Having a FEMA-approved plan demonstrates the commitment of UMS and its universities to reducing our vulnerability to natural disasters and promoting a culture of safety.

FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program
FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program provides funding to state, local, tribal and territorial governments so they can develop hazard mitigation plans and rebuild in a way that reduces, or mitigates, future disaster losses in their communities.
