VECâs Power Supply: Multiple Sources, With Cost Top-of-Mind
Johnson, VT â Affordability, diversity, and synergy are the principles that guide Vermont Electric Co-op when buying wholesale electricity, VEC Power Planning Analyst Dan Potter said during a recent webinar focusing on VECâs power supply purchasing strategies. As VEC considers its purchases of power to supply the utility's 33,000 members, Potter says the co-op also relies on input from the VEC Board of Directors, an annual member survey, as well as state requirements.

VEC Asking Members to Trim Electricity Use Monday and Tuesday
Johnson, VT- Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) is encouraging members to conserve electricity on Monday and Tuesday evenings June 23rd and 24th as demand for electricity across New England is expected to spike because of high temperatures. Specifically, VEC asks members to conserve between 5-10 pm both evenings.

Aerial Inspections in VEC Service Territory This June
VEC has been testing the use of drones for proactive line inspections with the goal of helping us to catch issues before they cause damage or unplanned outages. This June we are expanding this work and inspections of overhead lines will be conducted in over half of VEC service territory towns. We will be doing this work with the assistance of Firmatek, our drone contractor.
