I can't find reliable sources that would help this subject pass wikipedia actor guidelines. Declined prod. Fails WP:SPORTSCRIT and WP:NOLY. Disqualified from race. LibStar (talk) 09:44, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The subject of this article is very likely dead (they were born in 1936, India has an average life-expectancy of 72) but there is no known death-date nor extant obituary. The name of the subject is incredibly common (Singh is one of the world's 10 most common surnames, Ajit is a top-100 given name globally), we have at least 21 blue-linked articles for people with the same name which hinders searching. For this reason also redirection is not warranted: it is not plausible that people would be searching the title of this article which includes a disambiguation, and people searching for the other Ajit Singhs - including numerous sportsmen and even multiple Olympians - should not be hindered in searching for them.
As has been pointed out in the nom, the article manages to be inaccurate even when it is barely a sentence in length - it is not clear that Singh did even compete in this race since he was disqualified at some stage.

Article on a modest research grant, PRODded with reason "No indication of notability. Fails WP:GNG." Article de-PRODded with reason "removed deletion tag as I disagree with this nomination: the RDFs were a well-known, primary means of science funding in New Zealand, and have now been replaced by a comparably notable programme which is linked in the article. will also add {{old prod}} to talk page. I edited the text of the page as well to highlight why the fellowship scheme is notable, and removed text that seemed redundant or simply parroting what appears on the RSNZ website." However, none of the sources given are independent of the subject. On the talk page it is suggested to merge this article with Tāwhia te Mana Research Fellowships, but that article suffers from the same sourcing deficit. PROD reason still stands, hence: delete. • Comment: I'm baffled, this is the first time I see such a "procedural vote". I apologize for having a real life independent of WP (I know, isn't that shocking that such exists?), so I didn't answer immediately. As BEFORE I did a Google search and only found mentions that were not independent (either from the website of the granting agency/academy or a note on the website of the organism employing an awardee). I did not find any independent reliable sources that discussed these grants in depth. Perhaps you can now change your "procedural !vote" into a policy-based one. --Randykitty (talk) 12:48, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Upon reviewing and analyzing the content, it is clear that the article does not meet the required standards. The individual does not exhibit clear distinction, diversity, or uniqueness in any specific field.

Participation in an economic forum or a workshop alone does not necessarily reflect uniqueness or fulfill the necessary criteria.

In terms of political involvement, merely running on a legislative election list, without achieving success or gaining notable recognition, is not sufficient to classify the individual as distinguished or as meeting the required standards. — Osama Eid (talk) 13:32, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

For years, this promotional article has been used to spread false information. First of all, the person is presented as a "philanthropist," although he has never been a philanthropist. Also, the "Academic career" section is completely false, as this person has never taught at any of the listed universities.

Overall, the only two pieces of information that are actually true are the brief period as director of the Italian organization SIAE, and the current position as rector of a private university that he founded himself. In my opinion, these two pieces of information alone are not sufficient to consider someone encyclopedic.

If it is decided to keep the article, be very careful with the information it contains, because some websites copy content from Wikipedia, resulting in the amplification of false or questionable claims. Eritr (talk) 09:03, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The article does not meet GNG. While the subject has received some mentions in mainstream publications such as The Times of India and Hindustan Times, these appear to be routine quotes or name-drops, not significant, in-depth coverage that examines his life or work in detail. The article primarily lists his professional and entrepreneurial activities, but fails to demonstrate sustained attention from multiple independent reliable sources. Hi Sir, can you tell me why this topic is nominated for deletion? You have rejected this topic by saying "Article does not meet GNG."

But, this topic has the sufficient reference links. This topic is on a famous person who is an entrepreneur owner of a well established company and there are many instances where the popular media houses (from which you will consider links as the reliable sources) chosen him as the best option for getting advises and suggestions regarding various political topics.

Please review once again. And please let me know how can I update this topics so that this will be live on Wikipedia. Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Harish139 (talkcontribs) 14:09, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you actually read WP:GNG, you'd know that being quoted occasionally or featured as a talking head doesn't establish notability. What matters is significant, independent, in-depth coverage about the person, not just mentions in articles where the focus is on broader topics.
You've linked interviews and opinion pieces where the subject is asked for their take — that’s not the same as coverage about them. These are routine business mentions and PR-style interviews, not the kind of sustained, critical coverage that warrants a standalone article. Thilsebatti (talk) 04:29, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The CIAP lacks notability both generally, and within the Australian healthcare context. As it currently stands, it is a profoundly underwhelming article consisting of a single sentence and a few dot-points that link to other articles. The article does not, in any way, establish the CIAP's notability. In the previous 2011 AfD (previous name WP:Articles for deletion/Clinical Information Access Program; no consensus), the only 'sources' used to support its retention were seemingly promotional posters (now inaccessible), a passing mention in a comment to another unrelated journal article, a staff announcement in the NSW Health bulletin, and a 2002 conference paper. A Google Scholar search shows that it has only been the subject of one article (a simple article that said how many times it's been accessed by NSW Health staff in 15 years - [18]), or passing mentions in the methodology sections of other sources. It has no media coverage, is not publicly accessible, and the only Google web hits are the CIAP website itself and library guides on how to access CIAP. Tim (Talk) 02:41, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Company fails WP:CORPDEPTH with a lack of significant coverage. There is coverage of one specific controversy involving the studio, but that alone does not confer inherited notability on the studio itself. Contested PROD that claims WP:SOURCESEXIST, but no examples given, nor could I find any in any language. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 12:04, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The sources exist, independently from the controversy.[19][20][21] Inven is a video gaming outlet, but the latter two — News1 and Pressian — are legitimate news media commonly cited here and their coverage goes beyond simple mentions, reporting about the company's prospect. They are not in the article yet, but I can add them. Emiya Mulzomdao (talk) 12:26, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please read WP:CORPTRIV. The 2nd and 3rd articles are very clearly "standard notices, brief announcements, and routine coverage". ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 20:59, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That is not a routine coverage. It's Suwon city goverment investing on the company, which is rare and far from standard. Reports related to the controversy also satisfy audience requirement since newspapers like Yonhap News Agency, Kyunghyang Shinmun, and The Hankyoreh are some of the biggest news agencies in the nation. All of these are best compiled in the article about the company. Emiya Mulzomdao (talk) 12:42, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It is a brief 1-paragraph article that says that someone invested in the company. This falls under WP:CORPTRIV as "of a capital transaction, such as raised capital", or something similar. Who did it is irrelevant. I think my point has been made though, so I won't push it further besides stating my opinion you are incorrect. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 22:01, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Suwon's investment agreement is always a focal point of the regional newspapers due to the major perks and development in the special case city economics, which are stated in the articles, so I disagree with that. Emiya Mulzomdao (talk) 12:45, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your take on the article is a fundamental misunderstanding of NCORP guidelines. The articles are regurgitations of announcements by Suwon so not "independent content" and fails ORGIND. Now, you say an investment by Suwon is rare and therefore notable - ok, perhaps that is true but all we care about is that sourcing provided in-depth independent content about the company. If it really was rare and notable, why has no other publication written an article using "independent content"? If you can find one which doesn't simply regurgitate the same content as the announcement then that is a source that would be counted towards notability. HighKing++ 11:07, 31 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Subject does not meet GNG. However, the article focuses more on the subject's arrest (which may be notable) than the subject's bio. Uncle Bash007 (talk) 16:44, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep The subject's arrest has received significant coverage from multiple independent and reliable sources. This level of attention suggests the topic meets the notability guidelines. If the article currently focuses too much on the arrest, it can be improved and expanded. Ridzaina (talk) 04:58, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep The article is covered by reliable international sources like Front Line Defenders, FIDH, and Jeune Afrique not just for his arrest, but for his role as a lawyer and human rights defender in Niger. His work with civil society and legal defense of protesters got wide, independent attention. The article meets notability because multiple sources talk about his activism, not just one event. Instead of deleting, the article can be improved with more detail on his career. Gwanki (talk) 10:31, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Most coverage is company-focused, not about him individually. There are no reliable, independent biographical profiles with in-depth coverage. The article relies on press releases, event coverage, and primary sources affiliated with Qube Cinema. While his AMPAS membership is a notable recognition, it is not supported by independent, in-depth coverage in reliable secondary sources. Thilsebatti (talk) 04:12, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: I agree with the nominator. Most of the articles are about the company rather than the person, and even those are not from reliable sources. Therefore, this fails WP:GNG. Baqi:) (talk) 10:23, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep — Passes both WP:GNG and WP:NBIO. Multiple independent, reliable sources offer significant biographical coverage, not mere routine company mentions:
    • D. Govardan, “They changed the way we watch movies”, The Times of India, 21 Nov 2022 – in‑depth career profile tracing Kumar’s innovations from Media Artists (1986) through Qube Wire (2018).
    • M. Suganth, “Chennai‑based movie tech guru Senthil Kumar gets Academy invite”, The Times of India, 1 Jul 2020 – coverage of his AMPAS induction.
    • Sowmya Rajendran, “Chennai Qube Cinemas’ Senthil Kumar speaks on being invited to be Academy member”, The News Minute, 1 Jul 2020 – independent interview.
    • Shobha Warrier, “Indian entrepreneurs have 100 times more opportunities today”, Rediff, 25 Nov 2013 – detailed entrepreneurial retrospective.
    • “Surprised, thrilled: Qube Cinemas co‑founder on Oscars Academy invitation”, The Week, 4 Jul 2020 – third‑party profile following AMPAS honour.
    • Special Achievement Award (IMAX Big Cine Expo, 2018)* – reported by Medianews4u, 29 Aug 2018. (https://www.medianews4u.com/big-cine-expo-successfully-concludes-its-third-edition/)
    • Distinguished Alumni Award (NIT Tiruchirappalli, 2023)* – covered by The Times of India, 13 Dec 2023. (https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/trichy/nit-t-distinguished-alumni-awards-and-young-achiever-awards/articleshow/105948111.cms)
    • These articles and award reports amply satisfy the “significant coverage” requirement of WP:GNG, while the AMPAS membership, IMAX Special Achievement Award, and NIT‑T Distinguished Alumni Award are all selective honours that meet WP-NBIO §1/§3/§8. Any COI or tone issues can be fixed through normal editing; they are not grounds for deletion. — SanjayMadhavan (talk) 07:56, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree. The sources cited are either brief event-based mentions, interviews (primary), or trade/press-release style writeups. There is no in-depth, independent, reliably sourced biographical coverage of Senthil Kumar as required by WP:GNG. The AMPAS membership, IMAX Special Achievement Award, and NIT-T Distinguished Alumni Award are indeed selective recognitions. However, WP:NBIO requires that such awards be covered in-depth by reliable independent sources, which is lacking here. At present, the subject fails both WP:GNG and WP:NBIO due to absence of sustained, independent biographical coverage in reliable secondary sources. Most sources are limited to brief announcements or primary interviews. Thilsebatti (talk) 18:50, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No. Source Publication Type Reliable? Independent? Substantial Coverage? Notes
1 [‘Indian films are known for stories’: V Senthil Kumar](https://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/tamil/indian-films-are-known-for-stories-v-senthil-kumar-9162105/) Indian Express Interview ✅🟩 Primary source. Reliable but not independent. Very limited depth.

3 [SMPTE Fellow recognition](https://www.indiantelevision.com/technology/software/v-senthil-kumar-elected-as-smpte-fellow-240123) Indiantelevision.com Trade article ✅🟨 Trade-style source. Coverage is announcement-based.
4 [Exchange4Media – SMPTE fellow](https://www.exchange4media.com/media-tv-news/v-senthil-kumar-of-qube-cinema-elected-as-smpte-fellow-129698.html) Exchange4Media Trade article ✅🟨 Trade media. Lacks biographical depth.

6 [Behindwoods – Oscar invite](https://www.behindwoods.com/tamil-movies-cinema-news-16/oscars-2023-invitation-senthil-kumar-qube-cinema.html) Behindwoods Entertainment site ❌🟥 Fails WP:RS. Promotional tone. Not usable.
7 [BusinessWorld – SMPTE fellow](https://www.businessworld.in/article/V-Senthil-Kumar-Elected-As-SMPTE-Fellow/24-01-2024-503226/) BusinessWorld Business press ✅🟨 Possibly based on press release. Lacks depth.

@Thilsebatti: Comment – All of the URLs in the eight-row table appear to be either mistyped or unrelated to V. Senthil Kumar and were not cited in the article, so the reliability scoring is not verifiable:
  • Indian Express link (`…9162105`) URL returns 404.
  • TOI link (`…101615481`) URL returns 404.
  • Indiantelevision URL returns 404.
  • India Today URL returns 404.
  • Exchange4Media URL redirects to an unrelated Viacom18 media-rights article.
  • Behindwoods URL returns 404.
  • Business World URL redirects to home page with a page Invalid input pop-up.
  • YourStory is blacklist-tagged on en-wiki and was not cited in the article.
Per WP:V and WP:BURDEN, the onus is on the editor adding a source to provide an accurate, working citation. Until correct links are supplied, the table (and the conclusions drawn from it) should not be used to assess GNG/NBIO compliance. Madan80 (talk) 02:23, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep per nom, not so ironically. You say it's a notable phrase, but you gutted the article before you nominated it, which is kind of problematic. Granted, much of that probably need to be reformatted or removed, it just seems like poor timing to "improve" an article and they try to get it deleted. Regardless, it is notable, and there are tons of uses in culture and example sources, which means it passes WP:GNG. Entirely unreferenced list of fences in a city, I find it unlikely that this subject is deserving of its own page. Previously discussed at now-defunct venue WP:PUF fifteen years ago, but it was more about licensing compatibility of author's intended license "CC-BY-NC-SA". However, I'm definitely concerned about the logo's eligibility (or rather ineligibility) for copyright protection. The logo itself is below the US's threshold of originality (c:COM:TOO US), despite using the "V" or rabbit ears as substitute for the dot of "i". If it is definitely American-made, then the logo should be transferred to Commons. Also, prior revisions should be undeleted. George Ho (talk) 05:08, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Nominator's rationale: It has long been established in policy and at AfD — in nominations going back as early as 2007 — that lists of store locations are unacceptable on Wikipedia. (See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Saks Fifth Avenue store locations, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Saks Fifth Avenue locations, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Parisian locations, and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Bloomingdales locations. There is even CfD precedent, in the form of Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 April 20#Category:Store locations.) Of the 16 articles currently in this category, only one (List of Printemps store locations, itself up for deletion) is actually a list article — the others are actual articles for (granted, largely if not entirely defunct) department stores that contain lists of locations. (It may be worth noting that the category creator was recently brought to ANI for twice creating the Saks Fifth Avenue location list.) WCQuidditch 00:40, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think that "vallenato musicians" is too subjective and ill-defined to have its own navbox. As genres go, vallenato is unusually clearly delineated, but there are still edge cases for this navbox, like:

  • Alfredo Gutiérrez, definitely an important vallenato musician, but also known for his work in basically all other types of tropical music.
  • Adriana Lucía, who released one vallenato album as a teenager and then moved on to other things; she is still included in lists like "Ten heroines of vallenato music", but I think this is because the pool of well-known female vallenato artists is so small.
  • Rafael Escalona, Patricia Teherán, and Jorge Oñate are hugely important in vallenato but did not play instruments; without them the navbox is worse, but with them the scope becomes more vague still.

There is a case for and against describing these people as "vallenato musicians", and in my opinion that is a problem for this navbox. If it helps to reference the WP:NAVBOX guideline, I'd say that this navbox fails to satisfy the "coherence" criteria of guideline 1, and fails 4 because there is no article on vallenato musicians.

An additional note: if this navbox is deleted, I plan to create one for the Vallenato Legend Festival (and its competitions), which covers many of the same people. See my post at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Latin_music#Vallenato_musicians_navbox. It would replace, to some degree, the connections that this navbox is facilitating, while also having a clearer scope. GanzKnusper (talk) 08:15, 4 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion review

[edit]
File: Sreenath Subrahmanyam (talk|edit|history|logs|links|watch) (article|XfD|restore)

Dear editors,

I am requesting a review of the decision to delete the profile for several compelling reasons described below As you can see, the academic easily qualifies under the following, and there is compelling and overwhelming evidence. The academic qualifies under (1) WP:PROF#C1; (2) WP:PROF#C2; (3) WP:PROF#C3; and (4) WP:PROF#C4; (5) WP:PROF#C5; and (7) WP:PROF#C7. As you can see from the evidence presented here, there are phenomenal contributions made by the academic, and this has also been ratified by highly accomplished professors from around the world—many thanks for your critical review.

1 WP:PROF#C1

1.1 World's first "Bite and Switch" Sensors The academic was the first to develop a new "Bite and Switch" Sensor, and this has made a tremendous impact in imprinting technology. Several research groups have adopted this new technology. The article discusses the introduction of this new idea and its applications in several research areas, which have proven to be true over the years. The citation score is a testimony to this [23]. The academic is the first author in the publication.

As evidence of the article’s major significance and immense impact on the field of endeavor and other fields alike, this article has been extensively cited over 110 times by leading and independent experts from prestigious institutions around the world, such as the University of Nottingham (UK), University of Kalmar (Sweden), Georgia Tech University (United States), Peking University (China), Université de Perpignan (France), University of Regensburg (Germany), Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada), Universidad de Oviedo (Spain), and Banaras Hindu University (India). This is demonstrative of the author’s significant influence on the field endeavor and clear evidence of his sustained international acclaim. I am certain that the author has risen to the top percentile of his field of endeavor and is unmatched in his specialization.

1.2 World's first idea that Natural receptors can be used for sensors and assays In the perspective article, which is considered ground-breaking by several researchers around the world (please see below), the academic demonstrated the fundamental properties of natural receptors and analyzes the application of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor and G protein-like receptors in affinity sensors.

1.3 A wikipedia article that describes the work in more detail To support the above (1.1 and 1.2, please refer to the Wikipedia article that discusses the new "bite and switch" tool developed by the academic and provides several examples of applications of the idea. [Please review https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molecular_imprinting]

1.4 A special note from "Nature Reviews Chemistry"' "Nature reviews chemistry", one of the reputed Journals has cited the author's work and further confirms that the novel method introduced by the author has been instrumental in the development of sensors. The author is the first author here https://www.nature.com/articles/s41570-022-00439-w (Please see reference #60 on the article)

1.5 Additional evidence of critical contributions reviewed from around the world The other manuscript that copiously cites the author's work has the following to say. "20 functional monomers were initially assessed for their interaction energy with the template ephedrine in both charged and neutral states [328]. Selected monomers were then used for polymer synthesis, but also subjected to further MD simulations together with template, cross-linker, and solvent, where the observed interactions could be correlated with experimental binding data. This approach has since been adapted several times in the literature [329,330,331,332,333,334,335,336,337,338,339,340,341,342,343,344,345,346,347,348,349,350,351,352,353]. (Please see https://www.mdpi.com/2073-4360/13/17/2841)

1.6 Academic's work in Advanced Materials

The academic has another paper as a first author in Advanced Materials (with an incredibly high impact factor of 28.7), and the work highlights that a novel material has been introduced into the field. The Journal is the best in the category for the specialization, and this is widely discussed everywhere on the internet.

1.7 Academic's perspective article [What are perspective articles and who writes them]

Another prescient article by the author was ground-breaking. Analytical Chemistry invited the author to write about the new work that he introduced to the field. The author published the article as a perspective article, and the academic was the first author on the article. Please see https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac025673%2B

Perspective articles are written by experts who offer new direction and new vision to the field. Here is what the Analytical Chemistry Journal has to say about perspectives to show that the author is indeed a pioneer in the field.

"If Reviews are authoritative and Features are educational, then what are Perspectives? This may be the most misunderstood manuscript type, or at least, they were the category that I least understood when I started serving as an Associate Editor several years ago. Perspectives describe the authors’ vision of a specific topic and perhaps point to a new direction for this topic. They oftentimes include an analysis of current research that provides a foundation for the new direction or highlights new opportunities for growth in the field. Perspectives also provide an opportunity for an author to predict the future of their field and, of course, justify their vision. Unlike Features, Perspectives are aimed at specialists in the field, and their writing reflects this orientation". The author's visionary article came on the cover of the Journal. (Please see https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac300107q)

Wiki Criteria#2 confirms that "Some less significant academic honors and awards that confer a high level of academic prestige can also be used to satisfy Criterion 2" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(academics)#C2

The academic has won several prestigious awards, such as (a) Commonwealth Award (Commonwealth Countries) (b) Kings Norton Award (UK) (c) National Institutes of Health Award, US (d) Endeavour Award (Australia) (e) Marie Curie (EU). The Wikipedia Criteria explains that " Some less significant academic honors and awards that confer a high level of academic prestige can also be used to satisfy Criterion 2" and therefore the academic satisfies WP:PROF#C2

3 WP:PROF#C3

3.1 The author is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology (FRSB). "Fellowship of the Royal Society of Biology (FRSB), previously Fellowship of the Society of Biology (FSB), is an award and fellowship granted to individuals that the Royal Society of Biology has adjudged to have made a "prominent contribution to the advancement of the biological sciences". Fellows are entitled to use the post-nominal letters FRSB. As of 2016, examples of fellows include Sir David Attenborough, Martin Hume Johnson, Jasmin Fisher, Sir Tom Blundell, and Dame Nancy Rothwell. See the Category: Fellows of the Royal Society of Biology for more examples" (Please review https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Society_of_Biology) (Please also see https://thebiologist.rsb.org.uk/meet-our-members/member-profiles-6)

3.2 The author is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). "The Fellowship of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) is one of the most prestigious awards. Existing Fellows include award-winning scientists and Nobel prize winners" (Please review https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fellow_of_the_Royal_Society_of_Chemistry#:~:text=Fellowship%20of%20the%20Royal%20Society,of%20the%20RSC%20Applications%20Committee)

These are highly selective honors, satisfying Wikipedia's notability criteria for academics (WP:NAC #3).

3.3 The academic has been adjudged as a scientist of extraordinary ability in the Sciences by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services [From the academic's University Webpage]

4 WP:PROF#C4 The person's academic work has made a significant impact in the area of higher education, affecting a substantial number of academic institutions. This is what the world's top Professors had to say about the work of the academic. The list is not exhaustive and is only representative.

Israel: (Professor Simcha Srebnik) Israel Institute of Technology has quoted the author's work in their work "utilized his patent methodologies to screen between the two molecules using molecular modeling software containing a virtual library of functional monomers, which can be assigned and screened against the target molecule. Not only is this method completely superior to the old method of detection for creatine, but this approach is also readily applicable to the design of assays, sensors, selection of amino acids, and in many other pharmacology and biotechnology settings"

Russia: (Professor Sergei Alexandrovich Eremin) The University of Moscow has quoted the author's work in their work

".......Furthermore, Dr. Subrahmanyam was the first to make hypotheses about the potential of the natural receptors in sensor application. As evidence of the article's critical acclaim and major significance....."

"......the first researcher in the world to develop a new computational tool for the design of receptors that could perform similar to the naturally occurring molecules. This completely new process for sensing used computational procedures to isolate functional molecules for efficient imprinting templates, and it is currently being employed by several research laboratories across the world.

United States: (Professor Ramachandra Naik, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, USA) "...........This is a tool that has been used in drug development, receptor-analyte biding, the mechanisms behind drugs, modified receptor binding for differentiating between closely related analytes, and in developing new vaccines. Dr. Subrahmanyam's invention has been highly influential; since the filing of its patent, there have been patents filed in more than 20 countries based on it.

United States: (Professor V Sethuraman, Brown University, USA) ".........This article was the first in the world to describe the potential applications of G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) as bio-recognition elements in next generation biosensor technologies. Moreover, it was also the first to hypothesize the use of natural receptors in sensor technologies. Many researchers from all around the world have referenced the work"

United States: (Professor Wei, U California, LA) The citation below talks about how the authors' work formed the conceptual framework for developing new tests for serum sample analysis. (Please see 3. Wei F., Cheng S., Korin Y., Reed EF., Gjertson D., Ho CM., Gritsch HA., Veale J. (2012) “Serum creatinine detection by a conducting‑polymer‑based electrochemical sensor to identify allograft dysfunction.” Analytical Chemistry 84 (18): 7933–7937. doi:10.1021/ac3016888

United States: (Professor David Myszka, University of Utah, Salt Lake City)

The group of David G. Myszka from the School of Medicine, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, has written in many of their publications that they and their group have investigated the hypothesis published by the academic and have developed purification and characterization methods for some sensing elements. Many publications by at least 25 other research groups on the internet cite the perspective article as the foundation for their research. For want of time and space, I stop short of discussing all of them here.

United States: (Professor Mark E Byre, Auburn University)

…….”it was the first description of using an analogue molecule to create a recognition matrix and successfully demonstrate a signal produced from a subsequent binding event. Thus, this is one the first papers to demonstrate the full potential of imprinted materials as sensors” in his manuscript on molecular sensors

Japan: (Professor Haginaka and his group) Another independent study published in a significant journal confirms that the authors' "bite‑and‑switch" strategy was the first study and one that is instrumental in designing selective creatinine Molecularly imprinted polymer. (Please see 2. Miura C., Funaya N., Matsunaga H., Haginaka J. (2013) “Monodisperse, molecularly imprinted polymers for creatinine by modified precipitation polymerization and their applications to creatinine assays for human serum and urine.” Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis 85: 288–294. doi:10.1016/j.jpba.2013.07.038)

China: (Professor Syu and his group) Another study confirms that the authors' work was the primary precedent for computational functional monomer selection (Please see Hsieh R‑Y, Tsai H‑A, Syu M‑J (2006) “Designing a molecularly imprinted polymer as an artificial receptor for the specific recognition of creatinine in serums.” Biomaterials 27 (9): 2083–2089)

China/ USA: (Professor Myngdi Yan and their group, Portland State University) “…………… hypothesized that G-protein coupled receptors, ion channel receptors and epidermal growth factor receptors could be used as bio-recognition elements. Since then this hypothesis has been successfully studied by several laboratories worldwide. This interesting article put forth the idea that these natural receptors could be used for diagnostic applications and for drug development because of their excellent sensitivity and specificity”

Thailand: Professor Virapong Prachayasittikul, Vice President, Mahidol University, Thailand) “…………the article was the first in the field to pioneer the use of molecular modeling for improving binding performance---- In their article published in the Journal of Computer-Aided Molecular Design 19(2005) 509-524

Italy: Professor Maria Teresa Giardi, National Council of Research …………..”The computational tool has hence been widely adopted by researchers worldwide”
