Updated July 15, 2025

Thanks to quick response and risk-informed actions from local firefighters, the Honey Creek Fire was called out on July 11. The 3.4 acre lighting-caused fire was reported on July 2 and was located in a fire scar in the Three Sisters Wilderness (McKenzie River Ranger District) just north of the Separation Creek Meadow Trail #4331.

Over the weekend firefighters responded to two human-caused fire starts. Both were unattended or abandoned campfires. Additionally, firefighters assisted the Upper McKenzie Fire Department with two rescues of individuals who needed extraction from the area and firefighters coordinated with the Oakridge Fire Department to respond to a wildfire.

With the continued hot and dry weather, a helicopter will be staged at the Oakridge Airport and prepositioned for initial attack. Please remember to be careful with campfires. Report all fires to 911.
